Come Join the Pie Commission in a “Meet the Chef” sampling, where you can drop in, get a few recipes, sample some delicious pie fillings, and ask Chef Marty of the Pie Commission any food or cooking questions you may have! Also, take advantage of a one-day sale on a 4 pack of frozen pies to cook at home!

Marty Shmanka is a red seal certified cook for over 30 years. He started his apprenticeship in Thunder Bay and Sault Ste. Marie where he gained experience with the butchery and cooking of game and meats. Recently having been a chef at Longo's and the executive chef at Highland Farms, Chef Marty used his skills to help with using meats, seafood and produce to create great tasting hot serve and take-home products. Now, as Chef of Pie Commission, he creates savoury pie fillings using slow cooking and braising techniques, using his own in-house stocks to create meat and vegetable-based pies.
